Cairngorms trip, January 2008

We headed into the Cairngorms intending to dig a snowhole and explore for a couple of days. As it turned out, there wasn't quite enough snow for the snowhole, and the 9th of January was marked by 150mph winds on the plateau and general storm carnage throughout the country. So we slept under a boulder on the 8th and struggled for 10 hours on the 9th to escape down Strath Nethy. But we made it to the Glenmore Lodge in time for a pint or three! A truly memorable 40th birthday "party" - thanks guys!
